El Paso, Texas – March 19th, 2010

Kofi Kingston came out and got an instant positive crowd reaction. As soon as he hit the ring he got on the microphone and stated that Evan Bourne was unable to tag with him against The Legacy. He also added that The Legacy did not feel that they needed to even compete at all being that they were in El Paso. Kofi then added that one way or another, whether it be either Cody Rhodes or Ted DiBiase, that he was going to take them on.

1. Kofi Kingston defeated Ted DiBiase by DQ. Legacy then came out and after putting on a good heel show for the crowd, the singles match started with Kofi Kingston going against Ted DiBiase. That match ended in DQ due to Cody Rhodes getting involved. Everyone was anxiously awaiting Evan Bourne to come from behind the curtain to aide Kofi but to everyone’s surprise Chavo Guerrero came out and cleared the ring of Legacy.

2. Chavo Guerrero and Kofi Kingston defeated Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes. After a quick challenge, the match quickly resumed as a tag match with Kofi and Chavo taking on both members of The Legacy. The match ended with Kofi hitting Trouble in Paradise on Cody Rhodes for the three count. After the match, Chavo did a great promo for his hometown crowd and got the crowd chanting “Eddie” when he stated that he used sell tickets and set up the house for wrestling shows as a kid.

Bree and Nikki Bella came out to get a special bell ringer for the next match.

3. Carlito defeated Primo. I don’t know what the point of this match was, other than to fill time. Everyone knew that this was time filler because Carlito and Primo can be seen tagging together and helping each other out on Raw. Nonetheless, the match went on and after a distraction from his trademark apple, Carlito hit the Backstabber and came out the victor.

Chris Masters came out and challenged anyone back in the dressing room to come out and participate in the Masterlock Challenge. William Regal’s music hit and he came out in typical heel fashion. After cutting a quick promo on how he’d been coming to El Paso for seventeen years, and the best the crowd could come up with was chanting “U-S-A.” After a heated debate in the ring, the chair was removed, and it turned into a singles match between the two.

4. Chris Masters defeated William Regal. The match ended with William Regal tapping out after Chris Masters was able to lock in his submission maneuver. After the match, William Regal stated to the thousands in attendance that he would “never come back to this God-forsaken town again.”

Intermission

5. Gail Kim, Kelly Kelly, and Eve Torres defeated Maryse, Jillian Hall, and Alicia Fox. The match was announced along with a special guest referee Santino Marella. The diva heel team of Maryse, Jillian, and Alicia Fox entered first with, of course, the Divas Champion, Maryse, taunting the crowd. Then, the Diva faces, Gayle Kim, Kelly Kelly, and Eve Torres, came out and were ready to begin the match.

Prior to the bell sounding, the unmistakable, “Excuse Me!” was heard over the speakers. Everyone turned to see none other than Vickie Guerrero, another native El Pasoan (well Horizon City if you want to get technical) come from behind the curtain, dressed in referee garb, only to dismiss Santino from inside the ring, and take over the referee duties for the match.

It wasn’t a very tight match, in that the mistakes made inside the ring were obvious, but it was still entertaining probably just because there were six divas in the ring. Vickie became incapacitated due to an accidental blow, and Santino came in for the three count giving the faces the win.

6. The Miz defeated Christian, Evan Bourne, and MVP in a Fatal Four-way to retain the U.S. Title. The first competitor, of course being the Champion himself, was introduced and he came out to boos and other jeers from the crowd. He quit a quick heelish promo about how he’d wrestled in front of great crowds in great cities, and how it was an insult for him to come and wrestle in a “barn” in El Paso. The crowd then started the typical “you suck” chant and Miz quickly countered with “I couldn’t possibly suck because I’m not from El Paso!”

Very well played, and The Miz’s quick wit got him the reaction he wanted throughout his performance. The other three competitors in order of appearance were: Evan Bourne, Christian, and MVP, all three of which got high spots from the crowd. The match was under way with Miz quickly being thrown from the ring and was prevented from re-entering for quite a while. After many false finishes and high spots, MVP hits his Ballin Elbow Drop, Evan Bourne hits Air Bourne, and Christian hit the Killswitch, but much to everyone’s dismay Miz retained the title with his Skull-Crushing Finale.

7. John Cena and Mark Henry defeated Sheamus and Big Show. Tag team match set for one fall. After all the entrances, in which John Cena received the largest crowd reaction, the match was under way with John Cena taking on Sheamus. After several tags were made by both sides it seemed as if the heel team of Sheamus and Show were going to win.

Much to everyone’s surprise, Hornswoggle emerged from his home under the ring and served to distract Sheamus while Mark Henry took him out. This left the two legal men in the ring and Cena served up Big Show with a thundering Attitude Adjustment for the three count.

Best Heel: The Miz
Best Face: John Cena
Weakest Match: Primo vs. Carlito
Strongest Match: The Miz vs. Evan Bourne vs. Christian vs. MVP

I would personally like to recognize Evan Bourne and John Cena for taking the time after they arrived to greet and sign for fans outside of the gate. This was a real class act, especially on Evan’s part being that it was his birthday on the day of the show.
