WWE Rumors: James Storm Open to an NXT Return

It seems that NXT might be adding some extra star power in the next year, as James Storm stated in a recent interview on Cerrito Live that he would be open to an NXT return. The Cowboy, who departed from Impact Wrestling on November 9th of this year, has recently been working the independent circuit. Storm was also personally invited by Ric Flair to attend the 30 For 30 party, and was the only non WWE performer to do so.

On the subject of making a return to NXT, Storm said

“NXT is one of the hottest things going right now no matter what people say. Anybody would be proud to be signed to NXT and have a good run there.”

Storm didn’t leave on bad terms back in 2015. In fact, in an interview earlier this year, Storm stated that Triple H himself told him he was welcome back should he ever find himself outside of Impact again.

“I was treated with respect when I went down there. Hunter and I talked about things. He said, ‘At the end of the day, you have to do what’s best for you. If things don’t work out, you have my number. Give me a call.”

With an open invitation from the Game to return whenever he felt the need, and such a high opinion on the NXT product, it wouldn’t be too surprising to see Storm end up in NXT within the next year or so. However, he also stated on Cerrito Live that he wants his next move to shock the wrestling world.

I just want to be a surprise because today, especially in our social media world, there are not that many surprises anymore. I always try to keep stuff kayfabe and keep stuff secret until it happens or whatever, so it’s even cooler when it’s a surprise.”

Whatever Storm’s next move is, he plans to keep it under wraps it seems, until the time is right. There are a lot of great companies for the Cowboy to end up, at least, enough to keep us guessing as to where he’ll hang his hat next.
