1) Saturday, February 13, 2010, WWE at the “El Estadio ‘Alejandro Morera Soto’” in Alejuela city, Alajuela province, Costa Rica. That rectangular stadium, “the cathedral of Cosat Rica soccer,” is about 20 km NW of the capital city of San Jose, and it is also only 25 miles away from both The Pacific Ocean and The Atlantic Ocean. Eerily, the soccer stadium is less than one mile away from the epicenter of the deadly earthquake of January 9, 2009 that killed at least 32 people. The stadium is named in honor of Costa Rica’s best-ever soccer player, who was good enough to play for FC Barcelona. The sound system wasn’t working right, as it was never very loud. The fans arrived so early (4 hours before gates opened) to this arena that the neighbors, mostly older folk, around the arena repeatedly called the police to control the restless crowd. On a chilly night with a wind that made it feel even colder, here were the results:
1. ECW Match: Christian and Goldust defeated Ezekiel Jackson and Zack Ryder, seconded b y Rosa Mendes, one fall to zero.
2. Matt Hardy and John Morrison defeated “The Hart Dynasty” [Tyson Kidd and David Hart Smith], seconded by Natalya, one fall to zero.
3. Beth Phoenix defeated Michelle McCool, one fall to zero.
4. For the WWE Intercontinental Championship: Champion Drew McIntyre retained the titled by defeating challenger Kane, one fall to zero.
5. C. M. Punk defeated R-Truth, seconded by Luke Gallows, one fall to zero. Punk, after his entrance, grabbed the microphone and said, “No me gustan las drogas, no me gustan las cervezas y no me gusta Costa Rica.”
6. El Rey Misterio junior defeated Chris Jericho, one fall to zero, via pin fall after The 619. Chris Jericho came out first, grabbed the microphone, and insulted the fans by referring to them as “Mexicanos.” The fans responded with the chant “oe oe oe ticos ticos,” ticos being the local word for Costa Ricans.
7. For the WWE World Heavyweight Championship: The Undertaker retained the title by defeating challenger Batista, one fall to zero. The finish saw The Undertaker give Batista The Last Ride, but Batista kicked out. Very slowly, The Undertaker set Batista up and gave him another Last Ride. That was sufficient to get the 1-2-3.
