Former NWA champion and UFC Hall of Famer Dan Severn announced that with the end of 2012, he is retired as a competitor in the MMA.
Severn noted that he would be taking pro wrestling bookings through the end of 2013 and then he would be completely out of the ring as a performer.
Severn held the NWA title in the 1990s and also had a run in the WWF where he had notable feuds with Owen Hart and Ken Shamrock.
Severn discussed his retirement plans with WNZ in a recent interview.
