WWE Studios and Rocker Gene Simmons Announce New Partnership for Horror Movies

– Variety reports that WWE Studios and Gene Simmons of KISS fame are teaming up to launch label Erebus Pictures, which will finance and produce future movies.

The new partnership is launching with a three-picture co-production deal and the first movie under that deal will be “Temple,” which was originally acquired and developed by WWE Studios.

Erebus Pictures will sell worldwide rights on all titles and use WWE programming, social media, digital content and the WWE Network to market the titles.

Simmons commented:

“The horror genre continues to fascinate me as it proves to be endlessly thrilling and engaging for audiences.”

WWE Studios President Michael Luisi also commented:

“Horror films fall into a genre that thrives on genuine passion, and I believe this partnership truly capitalizes on that sentiment and supports our vision.”

“Temple” follows a team of trained operatives who find themselves trapped inside an isolated military compound after their artificial intelligence is suddenly shut down. They then begin to experience strange and horrific phenomena.

Filming on “Temple” will begin this summer and Erebus will begin production on the second movie in the new deal later this year.
