TNA President Dixie Carter announced on Twitter this week that WWE Intercontinental Champion Christian will be appearing at TNA Slammiversary this weekend:

“On a plane headed to Dallas for the big PPV this weekend. Very excited @Christian4Peeps is joinin us for the night. He’s one of my favorites”

Dixie Carter’s announcement could be a sign that Christian will be the first person announced for the TNA Hall of Fame at the pay-per-view, but that is just speculation at this point.

While this is also not confirmed, it’s possible that WWE allowing Christian to appear at Slammiversary is payback for TNA allowing Ric Flair to appear at WWE’s Hall of Fame ceremony this year.

The other thing to consider with Christian is that maybe WWE felt he would still be out with injury, so it would be no major loss to them at the time. It would also kinda explain why he is currently a face despite his initial support of Laurinitis when he first returned.

what if, behind the scenes the wwe secretly owns tna wrestling…wouldnt that be a twilight zone situation!!!

  • Mark

In downtown houston right now at the G R brown center there are a line of tna fans waiting to buy vip tickets at the gate. They are having a week til the show deal going on right now. There has to be at least 3000 people out there, fucking nuts.

I would have never thought that many fans would be buying tna tickets. FUCK

@Bigelow, I would bet Christian was the name that was decided at the time of the deal, with an added condition that the name would not be revealed until now.

  • “Bad Man” Bigelow

@Sammo That’s very possible, but I’m surprised WWE wouldn’t send somebody like Nash whom is both disposable and has relevance to TNA.

If this deal was put in place prior to Flair’s Wrestlemania, it certainly explains why Christian has been relegated to the midcard upon his return from injury. Vince obviously wanted to devalue his name so that it wasn’t one of his main-eventers appearing on TNA.

The fact that WWE’s IC champ is a big deal in TNA just serves to make TNA look small time.

Whats funny is that WWE made this deal, then Flair is on the outs with TNA anyway … WWE kinda got gyped on the deal.

  • “Bad Man” Bigelow

I really hope it’s WWE that’s sending Christian in return to Flair showing up in WWE. If Christian is going on his own, that will be very bad for him.

I agree that TNA having a HoF is ridiculous as well, but I highly doubt Christian would be the first inductee. It has to be Jeff Jarrett, in my opinion.

  • TheSheepDog

its possible? really? well i dont see any other reason why wwe would let him otherwise, especially a current title holder

TNA having a hall of fame atm is stupid. imagine if wwe inducted cena or orton into the hall of fame next year. it doesn’t make any sense.

hopefully it’ll be a wrestling hall of fame and not exclusivley tna.
