WWE Superstars Results – June 2nd

We begin this week’s episode of Superstars with the Smackdown brand and your announcers are Booker T and Jack Korpela.

 


 

Tyson Kidd comes to the ring for his match, but he is not accompanied by Armando Estrada like he was last week. He is joined by Matt Striker.

Match Number One: Tyson Kidd with Matt Striker versus Trent Barreta

Trent with a clothesline to Kidd as the bell rings and then he kicks Kidd before Tyson goes to the floor. Trent with a flip dive to the floor and then he gets a near fall when he returns to the ring. Kidd goes back to the floor and Trent chops him and follows that with a European uppercut. Trent tries for a tornado DDT on the ringside barrier, but Kidd pushes him away and Tyson with a hip toss into the ringside barrier.

Kidd gets a near fall and follows that with a back elbow. Kidd with a snap mare and kick to the back for another near fall. Kidd with a reverse chin lock on Trent while we see Striker on the phone at ringside. Trent gets to his feet and he punches Kidd but Kidd with a knee and an Irish whip. Kidd chokes Barreta and he uses the ropes to add impact.

Trent with punches but Kidd with a knee. Trent with a kick but Kidd with a kick and he goes to the apron and he tries for the springboard elbow drop but Trent gets his knees up. Trent with a running elbow into the corner and then he goes to the apron for a springboard drop kick and a near fall.

Trent misses an enzuigiri and then he tries for a victory roll, but Tyson drops down and gets the three count.

Winner: Tyson Kidd

After the match, Matt talks to Tyson in the ring and he says that many people have tried to advise him what to do in the ring. Then Matt remembered that Tyson was trained by Bret Hart. Matt tells Tyson that he is better than Bret. Matt says that Tyson doesn’t need an advisor, he needs an agent. Matt mentions that he has wrestled at Wrestlemania, Summerslam, and has even won a Slammy because he has an agent. He says that Jack Korpela can’t even put together a sentence, but he has a job as an announcer because he has an agent. Matt says that he has learned a lot of things and he can be called a lot of things. He wants Tyson to call him someone he can trust. Matt tells Tyson that he is great and he can get his face all over WWE.com this week. Matt suggests that if you aren’t growing, you are dying. He wants Tyson to grow with him.

It looks like we have a deal.

We go to commercial.

Match Number Two: Heath Slater and Justin Gabriel versus The Usos

Jimmy and Slater start things off and Slater with a kick and forearm followed by punches as he tags in Gabriel. Gabriel with a punch and knee followed by a European uppercut and Irish whip. Jimmy floats over and then he dances. He does a split followed by a knee. Jimmy with a short arm clothesline for a near fall. Jey tags in and they hit a double elbow and double elbow drop for a near fall.

Gabriel with kicks but Jey with a Northern Lights suplex for a near fall. Jey misses a diving head butt and Slater tags in but Jey with a leg sweep and a near fall. Jey with punches to Slater followed by an elbow. Jey with a hard Irish whip and then he hits a splash into the corner. Jimmy gets tagged in and Jimmy gets Irish whipped into the corner. Jimmy with a splash onto Slater while Jey hits one on Gabriel on the other side of the ringside area.

We go to commercial.

We are back and The Usos with a double head butt. Jey with a rear chin lock but Slater backs Jey into his corner and Gabriel is tagged in. Gabriel with forearms but Jey with forearms of his own. Jey with a kick and then he knocks Slater off the apron. Gabriel tries to go to the floor but the referee stops him. Slater with a clothesline to Jey on the floor. Gabriel with a forearm on the floor and then Slater returns Jey to the ring and tags in to get a near fall.

Slater with a reverse chin lock on Jey but Jey with punches to get out of the hold and Slater with a neck breaker for a near fall. Gabriel tags back in and he kicks Jey in the corner followed by a punch. Slater tags back in and he punches Jey. Slater with punches and kicks in the corner and the referee warns Slater. Slater misses a forearm into the corner and Jey with a spinning forearm and both men are down.

Jimmy and Gabriel tag in and Jimmy with forearms and then he dances some more before a savate kick and a hip toss slam. Jimmy with a leaping savate kick for a near fall on Gabriel after knocking Slater off the apron. Jey tags in and they hit an alley oop Samoan drop but Slater breaks up the cover. Slater sends Jimmy to the floor but Slater is pulled to the floor and Jimmy is sent into the ring post. Gabriel takes care of Jey on the top turnbuckle by crotching him.

Gabriel with the 450 splash for the three count.

Winners: Justin Gabriel and Heath Slater

It is time to see how David Otunga and Michael McGillicutty won the World Tag Titles.

We are back and it is time for the Raw portion of the show and your announcers are Scott Stanford and Josh Mathews.

Match Number Three: Melina versus Gail Kim

They lock up and Gail with an arm drag out of the collar and elbow tie up. Gail with a rollup for a near fall. Melina with a take down and she continues the assault with forearms. Then she slaps Gail but then Gail gets back to her feet and Melina goes to the floor. Melina is brought back into the ring and Gail with a kick for a near fall.

Gail with another rollup for a near fall. Melina tries for a sunset flip but only gets a near fall. Melina slams Gail’s head into the mat and then she kicks Gail in the back. Melina with a hard Irish whip for a near fall. Melina with another Irish whip but Gail with an elbow to Melina. Melina with a forearm and then she chokes Gail.

Melina with forearms and then she chokes Gail in the ropes. Gail with a flying dragon submission on Melina but Melina is able to get out of the hold. Melina with a version of a curb stomp on Gail as she is warned by the referee. Melina with a screaming splash into the ropes and she gets a near fall.

Gail with a drop kick to Melina followed by a clothesline or two. Gail pulls Melina away from the ropes and then Gail hits the cross body into the corner. Gail goes up top for the missile drop kick. Melina gets to her feet first. Melina tries for the screaming step over leg lariat but Gail counters with Eat Defeat for the three count.

Winner: Gail Kim

We go to the Obama press conference that aired on Monday.

We are back with the Raw Rebound.

Match Number Four: Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga versus Santino Marella and Vladimir Kozlov in a Non Title Match

Michael and Marella start things off and they lock up with Santino applying a side head lock. Santino tries for a shoulder tackle but Michael does not budge. Santino appears to have hurt his shoulder so he tags in Kozlov. Michael with a kick and forearms. Kozlov sends Michael to the mat with a head butt and Otunga is tagged in.

Kozlov with a hip lock take down and then he connects with shoulders in the corner. Santino tags in and he is sent into the corner for a shoulder and he follows that with a suplex for a near fall. Santino with a split followed by a hip toss and a diving head butt. Santino uncorks the cobra but Otunga goes to the floor.

Michael makes the blind tag as Otunga gets back into the ring and Michael hits Santino from behind and Michael punches Santino. Santino with a forearm but Michael with a kick. Michael chokes Santino with his boot and he hits a back breaker and gets a near fall.

Otunga tags in and they sends Santino into the corner. Otunga with a front face lock as Santino tries to make the tag to his partner. Otunga tries for a neck breaker but Santino counters and escapes. Otunga and Santino each hit clotheslines and they go down.

Kozlov tags in and he sends Otunga into the turnbuckles and he hits a running shoulder tackle. Kozlov with a near fall and then all four men are in the ring. The referee sends Marella to the apron while Michael hits Kozlov in the back when Vladimir tries for a spinebuster. Otunga with the World’s Most Dangerous Spinebuster for the three count.

Winners: Michael McGillicutty and David Otunga
