WWE teases an Intercontinental Title match at Wrestlemania

The Miz came out on Monday Night Raw, irate after his loss at Elimination Chamber. The Awesome One told the WWE Universe that he’s on his way to being the greatest Intercontinental champion of all time, currently in second place for the longest combined reigns of the title, only behind Pedro Morales by 64 days.

The Miz would go on to tell the crowd that he asked Kurt Angle what he would be doing at Wrestlemania but didn’t get the answer he was looking for. Angle told Miz that his opponent tonight “might” determine who he faces at Wrestlemania.

This didn’t go over well for the champion, who took Angle’s words as an insult. After carrying the Intercontinental Title and Monday Night Raw for a year, the Miz said he’s tired of being treated like this, and claimed that whoever his opponent was tonight would get a beating.

To his surprise, Seth Rollins came out to take him on. The two put on an intense back and forth match, with the Miz’s intensity and frustration overcoming the Architect for most of the match. However,  Rollins would defeat the Miz after hitting him with a frog splash from across the ring.

Miz’s night wasn’t over, however, as Finn Balor would come out before he had a chance to catch his breath. After the Club and the Miztourage were banned from ringside, the leader of the Balor Club defeated the Miz, marking two back to back losses for the Intercontinental Champion.

After the match, Seth Rollins said that he wants a shot at the title at Wrestlemania. While we never got an official word from the WWE, it looks like we’re heading for a triple threat for the Intercontinental Title at Wrestlemania.
