WWE Touts Edge and The Four Horsemen Entering The WWE Hall of Fame

Edge® and the Four Horsemen to Enter WWE Hall of Fame

STAMFORD, Conn.– WWE® announced today that Edge and the Four Horsemen will be among the 2012 class of inductees into the WWE Hall of Fame. The ceremony will take place Saturday, March 31 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, the evening before WrestleMania® XXVIII.

Throughout his storied career, Edge, known as the “Rated-R Superstar™,” held every major title in WWE. He is a former WWE Champion, World Heavyweight Champion, Tag Team Champion and King of the Ring®. His final match took place at last year’s WrestleMania in Atlanta, where he defeated Alberto Del Rio™ to retain the World Heavyweight Championship in front of a sold-out crowd of more than 71,000 fans. One week later, in an emotional speech on Monday Night Raw®, Edge was forced to retire due to a neck injury. Outside the ring, Edge is a New York Times bestselling author.

The Four Horsemen, consisting of Ric Flair, Arn Anderson™, Tully Blanchard™, Barry Windham™ and manager J.J. Dillon, were the most dominant group of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) in the 1980s, transcending the world of sports entertainment into all avenues of pop culture. This grouping was the first of its kind, paving the way for the likes of the NWO®, Evolution® and DX®. While the Four Horsemen would undergo many transformations over the years, none would ever be as paramount as Flair, Anderson, Blanchard, Windham and Dillon.

Additional inductees will be announced on WWE programming over the coming weeks.

Tickets for the 2012 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony go on sale this Saturday, January 14 at 10 AM ET and will be available through the AmericanAirlines Arena box office,, Ticketmaster outlets or by calling Ticketmaster Charge By Phone at 1-800-745-3000.

    Sorry, Toronto.
Remember you heard it from me about an hour before it was posted on the websites. LOL

Not really sure, When Edge first announced he had to retire the internet rumor mill was saying he would be inducted into the HoF in 2013 in Ontario.
Now from what I can gather it looks like WM 29 will be at Cowboys stadium in Dallas Texas.

I didnt know Mania is going to be in Canada
    next year. Is it official?

I wonder if Flair will show up in his walker????

  • MWDynomite

The one thing that pisses me off about WWE and Edge is that they pretty much say that Edge has ALWAYS been the Rated R Superstar when in fact before that gimmick and after turning face in 2002 we all know he was boring as shit on the mic. It would be nice for WWE to acknowledge that through controversy Edge really came into his own.

WWE Hall of fame is based on ass kissing, because in REALITY it would actually be geared toward these guys and what they did for the NWA promotion, it would be Ole, Arn, Tully, and Ric Flair along with Lex Lugar and JJ Dillion. These were the BEST of the 4 Horsemen…..WWE Hall of fame is worthless, it doesn’t stay true to professional wrestling real history even though it’s fake….WWE SUCKS! Edge doesn’t even belong in the same class with the horsemen!

    too many trademarks…

I agree , Edge deserves it

  • Lil Drew

@sensation1011 WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU

  • HHH Bl0ws

Anyone else find it comical that Evolution is compared to DX, NWO, and the horsemen? Might as well add FBI and JOB Squad to the list.. oh wait, HHH wasn’t ever in those so of course they wouldn’t mention those

  • sensation1011

    edge was never entertaining

  • Tombstonepildriver

Edge really deserves this, But I honestly thought they would wait till next year and do it in Canada. Congratulations Edge!

To me Honestly Edge is the Bret Hart of his generation won every championship in front of him and did it his way
