Former WWE Women’s Champ Retires, SmackDown Action, Phoenix-Handler, More

– Former WWE Women’s Champion Bull Nakano officially retired yesterday in Japan at the Tokyo Dome City Hall in front of 3,000 fans, on her 44th birthday. Nakano retired back in 1996 and became a professional golfer. She dropped most of her weight and got down to 130lbs but put on weight for the retirement ceremony and was up to 220lbs.

Nakano would not wrestle on the retirement show but hand-picked the bouts on the card and later re-enacted moments from three of her biggest matches.

– Stan sent word that this past Friday’s WWE SmackDown had 34 minutes and 8 seconds of in-ring action, down from the previous week.

– Jack Swagger will be appearing at the FCW show on January 27th from the Charlotte Harbor Events Center in Punta Gorda, Florida.

– Beth Phoenix told fans on Twitter that she is available to face TV host Chelsea Handler at the February 24th WWE show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Based on Handler’s responses to Phoenix, this doesn’t sound like an angle that she is in on with WWE.
