NXT Takeover: Chicago match card changed due to star’s injury

Yesterday it was rumoured that NXT Superstar Ember Moon has suffered an injury. Now WWE has confirmed her injury and revealed that it will force them to change the match card of NXT Takeover: Chicago.

 


 

WWE made this announcement via a video as seen below in which the NXT Star is seen talking about her condition:

The company also released an official statement regarding her status and revealed that she will be out of action for 4 to 5 weeks. Here is a snippet of the press release:

“Moon suffered a grade one shoulder sprain as a result of Asuka’s ambush during last week’s No. 1 Contender’s Battle Royal and will not be able to compete at NXT TakeOver: Chicago on May 20, WWE.com has learned. Doctors estimate that Moon will require four to five weeks to recover from the injury.”

Before the injury, she was scheduled to challenge Asuka for her NXT Women’s Championship along with Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross in a Fatal Four Way match.

Although after this, their bout has been changed to a triple threat match leaving Moon out of the bout as well as the line-up for the NXT event. You can check out a list of announced matches for NXT Takeover: Chicago here.
