WWE has many changes planned in the coming months and that includes NXT getting more exposure by moving to the USA Network. Smackdown Live is also moving to Fox, so the status of 205 Live is in question.
Newsweek spoke to Triple H, where he talked in detail regarding 205 Live’s future. He called them “an island” and said that they are in limbo right now. He said fans should expect to see 205 Live “move toward the NXT banner.”
“You’ll start to see 205 begin to. I think it always existed as an island onto itself, a little bit, and it’s become lost in this limbo. You’ll begin to see it move more towards the NXT banner and the talent there.”
“We have a lot of talent. For them to begin to compete either open against anyone or in the cruiserweight division, but have that title sit under the NXT brand is more meaningful. It creates more opportunities for more people.”
“As for RAW and SmackDown, it’s an open division for them. When you’re on both shows, everybody is competing against everybody.”
It is to be noted that the third hour of Smackdown Live might move to FS1 and take up 205 Live’s time. It seemed that Triple H implied that the Cruiserweight Title might become a title exclusive to NXT. It is expected that the 205 Live superstars will either go to NXT or the main roster.
