He referenced being likened to Kato Kaelin, a memorable witness in the O.J. Simpson trial, after Stormy Daniels talked about her 2018 interview with Kimmel, during which they discussed her alleged affair with Trump.
Kimmel humorously commented on how the judge directed Daniels’ team not to discuss the graphic details of the alleged encounter, to which he objected, saying, “Yes, we do need to know the details. Some of us are trying to host a show here!” The comedian then shared his thoughts on various aspects of the case, including Trump’s alleged condomless interaction with Daniels and his post-coital remark referring to her as “honey bunch.”
Kimmel joked that “honey bunch” was also used by Melania Trump at Mar-a-Lago, adding, “As in, ‘Honey, bunch of FBI agents out there!’” He further quipped about Trump’s comment comparing Daniels to his eldest daughter, Ivanka Trump, suggesting, “Feels like we should lock him up just for that.”
The late-night host touched upon Trump’s lawyers’ argument that Daniels’ testimony was prejudicial, pointing out how her description of Trump in a compromising position might affect the jury’s objectivity. Kimmel questioned how anyone could visualize Trump in a sexual context without being unsettled, concluding, “How are any of us supposed to move forward with that image?”
