Actress ‘Warned’ Ben Affleck About J-Lo Marriage

Hollywood icon Jane Fonda expressed caution to Jennifer Lopez about immortalizing her rekindled romance with Ben Affleck on film, advising against turning their love story into a public spectacle. During a candid conversation featured in Lopez’s music documentary, “The Greatest Love Story Never Told,” Fonda, who starred alongside Lopez in “Monster-in-Law,” admitted feeling invested in their relationship but voiced concerns about the couple’s very public displays of affection.

Fonda candidly remarked to Lopez, “It feels too much like you’re trying to prove something instead of just living it. Every other photograph is the two of you kissing, hugging.” Despite Lopez’s efforts to convince Fonda to participate in the documentary, Fonda initially declined, emphasizing the need to handle their relationship with sensitivity to avoid criticism and scrutiny.

The documentary, part of Lopez’s larger project exploring her breakup and reunion with Affleck, included insights from Fonda and others close to Lopez, reflecting on the challenges and public scrutiny of their high-profile romance. Fonda’s cautionary advice appeared prescient amid ongoing rumors of strain in Lopez and Affleck’s relationship, punctuated by public appearances that lacked their previous affectionate displays.

Despite Fonda’s reservations, Lopez continued with the project, which delved into personal and public aspects of her life, including her decisions and perceptions about love and fame.
