The former NXT Champion Adam Cole is no longer under the WWE contract as the short extension has come to an end. His contract had expired in July.
He was last seen inside the ring at NXT TakeOver: 36 when he lost the match against Kyle O’Reilly. A meeting with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon also reportedly took place and there was no extremely huge push within WWE to keep Cole around. This will likely lead to a big change for the former NXT Champion, and it might happen outside of WWE. John Cena Bringing A-List Star To WWE?
Adam Cole could be moving to another promotion
As per the reports from Fightful Select, Cole’s WWE contract is 100% expired. He can now accept offers from other companies, and he is expected to do so as well. It was also noted that Cole cancelling his Twitch stream on Friday had nothing to do with a rumored emergency meeting with Vince.
“WWE sources also indicated that Cole is expected to field offers, and that he was not at Smackdown last Friday, and was not meeting with Vince McMahon as many had suspected when he canceled his stream.”
Adam Cole is now a free agent and we will see which promotion he ends up working for. Will it be AEW? Only time will tell.
