AEW allowed Britt Baker to wrestle without full recovery; injury update

AEW is dealing with quite the injury issue at the moment. After the controversy at AEW: All Out surrounding Matt Hardy, another AEW wrestler appears to be working with an injury. According to a Fightful Select report, Britt Baker made her in-ring return without a complete medical clearance.

Britt Baker suffered an injury in May when she teamed with Nyla Rose against Hikaru Shida and Kris Statlander. An unfortunate injury to her leg saw her tear her ACL. This put Baker out of contention from an in-ring role.

However, since then, Baker has been active in AEW in her role next to the ring as a heel. Over the last few months, Baker has actively pursued a feud with Big Swole. This has seen Swole dump her in a dumpster, and even dump a garbage can on her.

Throughout this time, Baker was recovering and was not actually participating in in-ring action.

That changed in the build-up to AEW: All Out. Baker teamed up with Rebel to face Big Swole in a handicap match before All Out. Then, at All Out, she wrestled Big Swole in a Tooth and Nail Match in her dentist’s office.

According to the report, Baker is still recovering from her injury. Despite wrestling twice in the recent weeks, she is not fully cleared for an in-ring return. AEW set an ambitious return date for All Out, but Baker is still making her recovery.

Others in AEW put Baker over for continuously working through her injuries and her toughness over the recent months.

It should be noted, neither of the matches Baker wrestled saw her in her usual in-ring action. Rebel’s presence in the handicap match protected her, and the Tooth and Nail Match was more of a brawl.

Now, Britt Baker’s eventual in-ring clearance date remains unknown.
