AEW apparently had big angle planned for Goldberg

AEW is no stranger to calling back wrestling legends as quite a few legends have been on TV since the inception of AEW Dynamite.

When the company was yet to be formed, rumors suggested that they would bring in Goldberg with the help of Barry Bloom. However, it never came to fruition.

During the Jim Cornette Experience, Cornette talked about how All Elite Wrestling tried to get Goldberg to work for the company while it was still not a finished deal. He mentioned that Tony Khan planned on having Goldberg come in and have a streak of his own in the company.

“Goldberg was huge on Tony Khan’s want list. He wanted Goldberg to come out and do the streak over again. I mentioned how much you think he’s gonna charge for a 30-second job match? Probably the same as a main event PPV match.”

This is certainly an interesting story if it is true. It is not known how Cornette came to know regarding this information.

However, he ultimately did not go to AEW. He stayed with WWE and had another Universal Title reign. Fans certainly wonder what would have happened if he had gone to AEW.
