AEW ‘Ban Fans’ For Booing Chris Jericho?

Who could possibly boo Chris Jericho? Last night’s AEW pay-per-view like version of their flagship show Dynamite, called Blood and Guts was certainly one for the books as MJF and the Pinnacle defeated Chris Jericho and the Inner Circle after Inner Circle member Sammy Guevara surrendered for this team when ‘The Salt of the Earth’ threatened to throw Jericho off of the cage. This is something that the top AEW star would do anyway and it’s caused quite a stir within AEW fans due to the fact that Jericho landed on what is being described as a ‘crash pad’. Did Chris Jericho ‘rip off’ Shane McMahon during AEW?

During the AEW Dynamite post show on YouTube, Tony Schiavone was none too happy when a fan mocked the moment. The fan proclaimed that he “hopes Jericho is OK after landing on that stainless steel cardboard.”. This lead the AEW commentator to reply: “We’re gonna block your ass from talking cause you’re a worthless piece of shit.”

In other news regarding the event that Jericho took part in, AEW Executive Tony Khan addressed potentially unhappy fans that were at Daily’s Place, offering refunds due to the fact that the first half of Dynamite was pre-taped. However, although it was taped, noted wrestling journalist, Dave Meltzer would explain on a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio that the reactions we heard on TV were genuine. Credit to WrestleTalk for the below.

“And when the show started, Tony Khan before the cameras went on, just goes, ‘Okay, this is the situation, the first hour of this show is taped, we’re gonna be playing it on the screens. However, your crowd noise is going to be the crowd noise in this match, so cheer and boo like you would’.

Is Chris Jericho’s AEW career over? Meltzer continued: “So the crowd noise was not fake crowd noise, it was the real crowd noise from this crowd, but the matches themselves were taped a couple of weeks ago. And he (Tony Khan) explained before that, ‘If for some reason you didn’t hear this and you’re unhappy, you can get a refund’, and they did give five refunds.”
