AEW Champion Is Free To Sign With WWE

AEW TNT Champion Cody Rhodes is a free agent, reports. He is working for AEW without a contract, and would be free to sign with WWE if he wanted to.

Former WWE Champion Daniel Bryan rose to superstardom in 2014 thanks to his organic rise as a babyface. This culminated in him winning both the WWE and World Heavyweight Championships at WrestleMania 30 after Bryan defeated Randy Orton and Batista in a triple threat match. Matt Riddle also dropped a huge Daniel Bryan bombshell.

Daniel Bryan, now known as Bryan Danielson, discussed why he left WWE for AEW after the end of AEW All Out. Adam Cole also debuted, reuniting with The Elite. Jim Ross ‘botched’ a major WWE star’s AEW debut.

Bryan Danielson has faced off against lots of top stars such as Kenny Omega, adam Page, Minoru Suzuki to name just a few. With AEW allowing stars like Jon Moxley to compete in other promotions such as GCW, it seems The American Dragon might be the next star to get his own chance at competing in another company while still working for AEW.

Dave Meltzer recently spoke on the Wrestling Observer Podcast, where he said that he thinks Danielson will be one of the next wrestlers to compete outside of AEW. He also further added that AEW will allow him to wrestle in another promotion without any problem in the future.

“Bryan Danielson, without going into detail, but some people will figure it out. There’s an independent promotion, which I believe he wants to work for, in a market that AEW has not run yet. And AEW is not against him working for that promotion, but when they run that market, they want Bryan Danielson’s first match in that market to be in AEW.”
