AEW could be planning for huge change in character for Matt Hardy

AEW has several things planned for next year that fans are likely to enjoy. It seems the company has teased something interesting for Matt Hardy during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.

Ever since he made his debut in All Elite Wrestling, Matt Hardy has remained a babyface in every feud he has been in. Now it seems that could be changing soon enough. On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that “most of the eliminations had a purpose” during the Dynamite Diamond Battle Royal.

Meltzer said that from what he was told, John Silver received one of the biggest pops out of anyone who participated in the match. He received a babyface-level pop and Hardy eliminating him was done on purpose as the company knows nothing will make fans boo Matt Hardy unless he eliminated someone who was very over with the fans.

We will have to see how they handle Hardy’s heel turn.
