AEW ‘Gang Rape’ Comment In Video Stuns Fans

AEW have been pushing harder and harder to be edgy and to fill the void that was left so many years ago from the attitude era. As of late, however, AEW has been pushing things just way too far. Now, I know what many are thinking “It’s just TV, it’s not real, stop being so sensitive.” While that would possibly be fine to allude to on some occasions, you don’t joke about rape. It’s not funny and never has been. There has literally never been a time in history on or off TV where that has been okay. So, I ask AEW, why now? How did this even air? Max Caster came out on AEW and did his typical (albeit choppy) freestyle rap routine. He stated: “Imma treat those bit***s like Duke Lacrosse.” as he came down to the ring to see Matt Sydal and Julia Hart. This phrase, of course, is about the Duke lacrosse case that was a widely reported in 2006 as a criminal case in Durham, North Carolina. The “joke” from Max Caster was mostly intended to get heat from the North Carolina crowd that were in attendance.

The line actually makes no sense at all and Max as well as AEW should have done some more homework as the case showed that the men in the case were actually falsely accused of rape and the accuser was then found guilty of second-degree murder after she stabbed her boyfriend in 2013.

Swing and a miss.
