AEW Lose Viewers To NXT After Huge Mistake

AEW Dynamite was down in viewership last night, though it did beat WWE NXT in ratings, with the first five to ten minutes of the show suffering terrible technical problems. Dave Meltzer tweeted saying it’s possible this affected numbers, and a large part of a key demo jumped to NXT.

 


 

Meltzer said, “Quarters will be interesting and as AEW/NXT competition was closest in a while. Looks like about 80,000 18-49 viewers who had been watching AEW switched to NXT last night.”

Dynamite had 734,000 viewers to NXT’s 720,000. Last week, AEW was at 854,000 while NXT had 659,000.

AEW ranked #6 in the top 150 shows on cable, NXT was further down the list at #24.

Viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.29 / NXT: 0.21
Female viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.19 / NXT: 0.20
Male viewers 18-49 – AEW: 0.40 / NXT: 0.23
Viewers 18-34 – AEW: 0.14 / NXT: 0.11
Female viewers 12-34 – AEW: 0.7 / NXT: 0.10
Male viewers 12-34 – AEW: 0.15 / NXT: 0.13
Viewers 25-54 – AEW: 0.34 / NXT: 0.25
Viewers 50+ – AEW: 0.27 / NXT: 0.35

Tony Khan apologized to fans during Dynamite for the technical error mistake making fans miss Lance Archer vs. Eddie Kingston, “”I’m so sorry that fans streaming #AEWDynamite were unable to see the opening of tonight’s show in their apps.
