WWE Hall Of Famer and AEW coach Arn Anderson is a veteran in the pro wrestling business and has worked with several wrestlers during his time. This includes Chris Benoit.
Anderson talked about Benoit on a recent episode of his ARN podcast. Anderson was asked by a fan how he would rate Chris Benoit as a Four Horseman and told him to disregard Benoit’s shocking actions during his final days.
Arn Anderson revealed that he could never disregard what took place, even hypothetically.
“This has been a tough subject from day one” Anderson began on the podcast. “I went round around with it, trying to get my head around it, and try to do it justice and say the right thing.”
Anderson added that it makes him feel guilty to say how great a performer Benoit was due to what he did.
“Almost impossible. It is almost impossible” Anderson continued. “Everything changed. And it changed in a way that couldn’t be fixed. It’s easy to say, what a talented, good friend Chris Benoit was. And the second I say that? The horror comes into my head of the event that happened and it makes me feel guilty for even saying what a great performer Chris Benoit was.”
“So, you know, it’s…I gotta be honest with you, I don’t think I have the right answer. I don’t think I have a good answer. There’s no doubting his talent and his ability. And there’s no doubting the horror of what happened, and that can never be erased. “
