AEW Star Has Failed WWE Drug Test

Pro wrestling legend William Regal has had lifelong struggles with drugs. He had recently spoken about his experience with his former boss, Vince McMahon. Regal stated that he owes his life to the WWE Chairman, who helped him get clean from drugs. He also alked about his 2008 suspension in WWE.

 


 

William Regal is not aware why he failed the drug test

Back in 2008, William Regal beat CM Punk in the final of The King of the Ring tournament on Monday Night RAW. There were huge plans for him but they were nixed after he was suspended less than a month later due to a wellness violation. He was suspended for 60 days as a result of this.

While speaking on the latest episode of the Gentlemen Villain podcast, William Regal claimed that he still has no idea what caused him to fail the drug test in 2008.

“I still don’t know what it was about, something showed up on my drug test, and again there’s been things said about me ‘oh he relapsed’ no, that’s not true at all.”

WWE legend William Regal served as the NXT General Manager before his release from the company and eventual signing with AEW. He was also influential in the major decisions for the brand and roped in many young talents. He was released from the company in January of this year. Regal had shocked the wrestling world when he made his debut on AEW at the brand’s Revolution 2022 pay-per-view when he walked out to the ring amidst the brawl that broke out between Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson. Regal has been associated with the Blackpool Combat Club comprising of Jon Moxley, Bryan Danielson, and Wheeler Yuta.
