AEW video game developer talks about having competition from WWE

Earlier in the month, AEW revealed quite a few games they have planned for release. This includes a game for current generation consoles.

The game is being developed by Yuke’s. The company has been responsible for making the highly popular Smackdown vs RAW video game series and other titles.

Hiromi Furuta, who oversaw the development of WWE games since the early 2000s, spoke to ‘Video Game Chronicles’. She talked about developing the new AEW game and how she is excited at all the possibilities. She also gave her thoughts on the competition between AEW and WWE, the latter of which she worked with for several years.

“My goal is simply to create high-quality pro-wrestling games that are loved by the community. I do not think of it as being a rivalry with WWE, but rather as us creating a new product with AEW. I still love the WWE and respect its talent.”

We will have to see how the AEW video game turns out to be.
