AJ Styles talks about limiting his moveset as he is getting older

AJ Style is a veteran in the professional wrestling business, having worked for over two decades. He has worked in several promotions, where he has pushed his body to the limit. Now at 43 years of age, all those bumps are catching up with him.

During his Twitch stream, AJ Styles explained that there is more gritty action when he is in the role of a heel. It involves him performing more kicks and strikes. While he is aware of the moves he is doing, some moves are more difficult for him to perform now. He explained that due to his body growing older, he has to limit his moveset.

“I think that if you do too much ‘cool’ stuff as a bad guy, then you’re begging people to cheer for you. To be that bad guy, it’s a lot more kick and punch, and grittiness, and cheating, and stuff like that. So, there’s a reason for everything. But I’ll make no excuses – the older you get, the harder that stuff is. I guess maybe I am going to give you an excuse, because the older you get, the more your body isn’t as flexible as it used to be. And you have pains that you didn’t have before, and the risk of hurting yourself, it definitely goes up as you get older. So you have to be smarter when you do these certain moves.”

AJ has already mentioned in the past he has thought about retiring for a long time. We will have to see when he finally hangs up his boots.
