Alberto Del Rio faced charges of second-degree sexual assault and aggravated kidnapping. However, it seems those charges are no longer on record. Del Rio’s accuser, who is his ex-girlfriend, recently made an apology post for her ”mistakes” on Instagram. Del Rio’s brother responded to this by calling her a garbage person and a liar.
Speaking to Sportskeeda Wrestling’s Riju Dasgupta, Del Rio expressed his hope that wrestling companies will come to realize he did nothing wrong. He compared his situation with Johnny Depp and Amber Heard.
“It should be people or companies saying, ‘Jesus Christ, poor guy. He got screwed,’” Del Rio said. “He got screwed just like I know in a different level, and you and I talked before this interview, a different level, way different level, but Johnny Depp.”
