Aleister Black Firing ‘Ruins’ Zelena Vega Return?

WWE released several shocking and surprising names recently including former WWE Universal Champion Braun Strowman, among others. One of those other names was Aleister Black who made his return back to WWE late last months after several weeks of vignette promos. Black’s last appearance with the company was on the May 21 episode of SmackDown where he hit Big E with the ‘Black Mass’, allowing Apollo Crews to retain his WWE Intercontinental Championship. Aleister Black ‘ghosted’ this top WWE Smackdown name last month.

Taking to social media via Twitter, Black reacted to news of his release as the former WWE NXT Champion stated the following: “Im gathering my thoughts as this was a complete left field for me as obviously we just started the dark father character but this was it, thank you so much WWE universe for allowing me to create and give you small bits of myself.”

Black made his WWE main roster debut in 2019 defeating Elias on the February 18th edition of WWE Monday Night Raw. He would have several high profile feuds during his time with company including against current WWE Champion Bobby Lashley and Seth Rollins. He was also a former WWE NXT Champion where he defeated Andrade “Cien” Almas at WWE NXT TakeOver: New Orleans to win the title back in 2018. Black will likely revert back to his independent ring name of ‘Tommy End’ in his post-WWE career.

Black’s wife Zelena Vega was spotted at the WWE Performance Center recently, but according to Sean Ross Sapp on Twitter, she has not signed a contract. After today’s firings, that can’t be good news for a potential WWE return.
