Aleister Black will not be cleared by NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV

Aleister Black was thrust into the Johnny Gargano-Tommaso Ciampa storyline a few weeks ago when he lost his NXT Championship to Ciampa thanks in part to Gargano. Black was supposed to join the former tag champions in a triple threat for the NXT Championship, but it looks like he’ll have to miss the event.

Reports came out last week that Aleister Black was injured, though the extent of the injury was not revealed. While we still don’t know how serious it is, PWInsider is reporting that Black will not be cleared in time for the match at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV.

Last week, Black left Gargano knocked out in the middle of the ring while Ciampa looked on from the crowd. It’s unknown when the company will make the official announcement on Black’s injury, and it’s possible they might wait until the NXT before TakeOver to reveal it, giving the former champion a bit more time to try to get cleared in time.

For the moment, though, it looks like the next chapter of Gargano-Ciampa will be a one-on-one match for the NXT Championship.
