Anderson Silva ‘Screwed’ By Judge At Chavez Fight?

The former UFC star Anderson Silva pulled off an upset against Chavez Jr. at Tribute to the Kings event on Saturday. He won via split decision (75-77, 77-75 x2.) Anderson Silva bags win in his comeback fight

Two of the three judges at Jalisco Stadium in Guadalajara, Mexico had it 77-75 for Anderson. It came as a surprise for Silva’s win that it wasn’t ruled a unanimous decision. Silva landed the cleaner strikes.

Ariel Helwani noted:

“Silva 100% won that fight. You could make a case for 78-74, too. I was afraid they were about to screw but alas they didn’t. Great scene afterwards. He is overjoyed.”

 

The 46-year-old saw his third boxing match in his career and picked up the win against Chavez. He threw shots in the corner during the third round. However, surprisingly enough one of the judges gave 77-75 in favor of Chavez Jr.

 

The Spider made an exquisite performance in the bout and fans loved to see him back in the ring. We will see what is next for Silva.
