Angel Garza is the new WWE 24×7 Champion

WWE’s New Year’s Eve Party unexpectedly saw a title change hands, as Angel Garza became the new 24×7 Champion.

The previous titleholder R-Truth was having a chat at the party with the former RAW Tag Team Champions, Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston. Truth was telling them that he was just back from Australia when a referee showed up at the scene.

Angel Garza rolled R-Truth up from behind for the pin, and before running away with the 24×7 title, wished the WWE Universe a ‘Happy New Year’.

Garza not only left R-Truth flabbergasted, but Xavier Woods sobbing on the floor as well. Woods’ favorite trombone, which is always a part of New Day’s entrance now, was broken into two in the commotion.

R-Truth would now have to start from the scratch again to win back his “baby”, the 24×7 title.

Angel Garza will start the year as a Champion

A lot of Superstars have been after R-Truth’s belt, including Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado of Lucha House Party, who have showed up on NXT this Wednesday. But so far, Truth has managed to win it back every time.

However, Angel Garza plans on treating his “baby” right and show R-Truth how it is done.

Garza pointed out that this is the second year in a row that he ended with a WWE Gold. Although this is his first Championship on the main roster, Angel Garza was the NXT Cruiserweight Champion at the end of 2019.

He later lost the title to Jordan Devlin and moved to the main roster to make his debut on RAW. He has been a part of the red brand ever since.

Garza had suffered an injury at Clash of Champions, but it was not as serious as it seemed. He is now back in the ring on RAW.
