Tony Nese dethroned the Juggernaut known as Buddy Murphy at WrestleMania 35, ending his Cruiserweight Championship reign at 183 days. Since then, Murphy has moved onto SmackDown Live, and the Premier Athlete has taken over as the top guy on 205 Live.
The majority of the Purple Brand’s best talents have either moved onto the main roster or left the company altogether, allowing for fresher faces in the lineup. Recently, we saw Oney Lorcan take on Ariya Daivari in a #1 Contender’s match for the Cruiserweight Championship, where Daivari overcame the Star Destroyer.
Now, the two former members of “The Zo Train” will face off in two weeks, as Daivari will challenge for Tony Nese’s Cruiserweight Championship at Money in the Bank. 205 Live GM Drake Maverick made the announcement earlier today in a WWE.com exclusive.
