John “Doomsday” Howard is the latest MMA fighter to call out former WWE star and now UFC fighter CM Punk, whose real name is Phil Brooks. In a recent interview, Howard explained why he wants to fight Punk. Here is what he had to say:
“Phil Brooks got a pass to the UFC because of his notoriety,” said Howard. “Maybe he is a legit caliber UFC fighter, but I want to be the guy he fights to prove he belongs in the UFC. I’m smaller than him. He’s a middleweight and I’m a welterweight, but I’ll come up in weight. If he whips my butt, I’ll eat my words–but let’s see him prove it against me.”

Punk, who has yet to make his UFC debut, is expected to fight sometime in 2016 against an unknown opponent. Howard on the other hand is scheduled to fight at UFC Fight Night 80 on Thursday night.
