A major match has been announced on this week’s episode of WWE Main Event. According to PWInsider, it was announced that Smackdown Women’s Champion Asuka will be defending her title against Becky Lynch at the Royal Rumble.
It is weird that a big announcement such as this was made on Main Event. Perhaps they were going to announce it on Smackdown Live but that did not happen for some reason.
With this announcement, it is a question of whether WWE’s initial plans involving Becky Lynch participating in the Royal Rumble and going on to Wrestlemania will happen or not. We will have to wait until we get nearer to the Royal Rumble. The Royal Rumble pay-per-view will take place in Phoenix, Arizona on January 27th.
