Austin Aries reveals he was contacted by Impact after WWE departure

Austin Aries

Former WWE Superstar Austin Aries recently appeared on X-Pac12360 podcast and revealed that he had talks with Impact Wrestling about a possible return after his WWE release:

We had some talks but really for me, the only position I was interested in there was the position of being a decision maker. I told Dixie (Carter) when I left there I wouldn’t come back and work for anybody. But If I was going to come back there (Impact), that I had to be in a position to make a difference.

However, according to Austin, he declined the offer from Impact officials because he couldn’t invest emotionally in the company since they got a lot of work to do:

All the possibilities and things I have in front of me, I really couldn’t invest myself emotionally into that because let’s be honest they’ve got a lot of work to do there. They’ve done a lot of bad business over the years and they’ve got a lot to overcome. And I think the guys there know that and I wish them luck.

It’s worth mentioning here that in some recent interviews, Aries has expressed the desire to step away from wrestling for a while and take a role where he can talk like a commentator or a radio show host.

It’s worth mentioning here that these two lines are used in nearly every single article he posts.

Such a tired writing style. “It’s worth mentioning here” “It’s worth noting here”
