Dolph Ziggler said in a recent interview that he has been playing the gatekeeper role in WWE for a while but expressed that he is not sure if he’ll resign with the company once his contract expires.
So when WWE suddenly put the US title on Ziggler and then did an angle where he abandoned the Championship at this week’s SmackDown Live, many wondered if this will lead to Dolph leaving the company.
However according to report from Pwinsider, so far this is only done for storyline purpose and Ziggler is expected to stay with the company in near future.
He will still be working Live Event for the SmackDown Brand though the belief is that he will be written off TV for a while to play out this angle.
No word yet on when exactly Ziggler’s contract will expire and if he will renew his deal but we’ll keep you posted if anything details regarding it come to light.
