The finish of No Mercy’s main event between Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar was surprising to people as not many people expected Strowman to go down after just one F5.

Not only the ending of this match disappointed the fans but it also made them wonder if WWE had originally planned something else for the bout due to the way Strowman was built before the PPV.
Though if reports from f4wonline are to be believed, this wasn’t the case and plans always were for Lesnar to go over the Monster Among Men as he did.
Furthermore, it’s being said that Strowman was seen as just another stop on Brock’s road leading to a final showdown between Lesnar and Roman Reigns at Mania where the Beast would finally drop the title to the Big Dog.
