WWE had teased a big announcement for WWE Backstage on this week’s episode of SmackDown but the company never made any revelation.
During the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about this and revealed what the announcement possibly could have been.
According to Meltzer, Brock Lesnar quitting SmackDown Live and joining Raw was always going to happen but the company didn’t plan to initiate this storyline this soon.
The officials originally planned to make this announcement on WWE Backstage but they changed the things after it became clear that the top stars of SmackDown will not be able to make it to the show.
Regarding the big announcement, it’s believed that it was about the first guest on the new WWE show and the company was very likely going to announce Brock for an appearance at WWE Backstage premiere on SmackDown before they changed the plans.
