When WWE introduced the new Wild Card Rule, fans thought it was just the company’s response to the declining ratings, though latest report suggests that this wasn’t the only reason.
According to a report from Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE’s broadcast partners Fox Network and NBC Universal, the owner of USA Network have been asking questions about the declining ratings recently.
NBC has especially been upset about the massive drops in the third hour of Raw and they have asked why they would give away Roman Reigns to the Blue Branded Show.
On the other hand, Fox has demanded more Raw storylines to be incorporated into SmackDown Live and it appears that the company made a compromise with both the networks in form of their new rule.
As we noted before the Wild Card Rule will allow several top talents from each brand to appear on both the shows and the Officials are expecting this will keep the networks happy and help the ratings.
