Jon Moxley formerly known as Dean Ambrose made a big move when he decided to join AEW only three weeks after being released from his WWE contract.
A lot of people wondered what WWE Officials thought of him joining the upstart promotion and if they were aware of his plans to do so before his release.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer provided some update on the situation recently and revealed that WWE Officials found out about Moxley’s Double Or Nothing appearance on Thursday, 2 days before it happened.
Regarding whether or not WWE Officials knew Ambrose wanted to make this move before leaving the company, Meltzer believes that he showed them the idea that he was burned out and would go work places like CZW or other independent promotions.
So far there has been no word yet on what reaction the officials had about the former WWE Champion signing with AEW but as reports indicate they might be planning to punish people related to stars who showed up at the Double Or Nothing PPV.
