The massive decline in the viewership for this week’s episode of Raw not only became a talking point among fans but it appears that it also created some buzz within WWE.
Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer recently talked about the big decline in ratings and revealing the backstage reaction to it, he said that everyone in the company was stunned:
“It’s a wakeup call for WWE. Look, everyone, I know in WWE was stunned and everyone I know in WWE got the message too. It’s just what you do with the message. Again, there’s a lot of issues at stake.”
For those who don’t know, this week’s episode of Raw saw a 12% decline in ratings from last week’s episode of the show and drew only 1.527 million viewers which is the new all-time low for the total viewership of the show.
There have been rumblings about WWE making some drastic changes to the programming after this massive drop and it would be interesting to see what efforts the company officials make to try and improve the show’s ratings.
