Backstage news on original plans for Dean Ambrose before injury

Dean Ambrose

It appears that Dean Ambrose’s triceps injury not only forced WWE to change plans for the Shield reunion but it also resulted in some big plans for Ambrose being nixed.

Dave Meltzer noted on the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the company had plans for Ambrose to turn heel after the Shield reunited.

After his heel turn, the Lunatic Fringe was penciled to feud with the Big Dog Roman Reigns, though it’s not known when this feud was expected to begin.

As we noted before it appears that Seth Rollins will be challenging Roman for the Universal Championship after Reigns wins the title from Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania.

While not confirmed, it’s possible that this spot was originally slated for the former SmackDown Live Star but due to the injury of both Ambrose and Jason Jordan, Rollins found himself in the perfect spot to replace Dean.

Dean heel turn sounds great, and it still can happen. For all we know they could surprise us and have Dean show up at Elimination Chamber.

I wouldn’t worry about them considering he gets one of the loudest pops in the company and he usually has a positive push going on. Unless he faces Cena, he usually wins his feuds. He is in a good spot.

I am a fan of Dean Amborse but I also think a heel turn for him is long overdue. I actually believe he would be a much better heel then a face.

I really don’t see anyone dumping on Dean. He gets a pop everytime he shows up. He is definitely the most over of all the Shield guys.

You just spoke my heart man……

People need to stop dumping on Dean this guys so underrated. He deserves so much more than what hes been given in my opinion, I found his run with the WWE Title (as brief as it was) far more interesting than the forced snoozefest thats been Roman Reigns.

    My bad. Thanks for noting
