Backstage news on WWE changing Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley Payback finish multiple times

According to a report from the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Alexa Bliss’ historical feat at Payback against Bayley, when she became the first woman in WWE history to have held both the SmackDown Live Women’s Title and RAW Women’s title, almost didn’t happen. The finish to the match was reportedly changed four times over a span of 30 hours before showtime.

Up until Saturday, the plan was for Bayley to retain her title in her hometown of San Jose, California. The first change to the match was made on Sunday morning, however, two more changes were made after that. It was not said why WWE officials were having such a dispute about the finish, but it is expected that Bayley will get a rematch for the title at Extreme Rules on June 4th.
