We noted before how WWE announced that The Undertaker will be returning to SmackDown Live at the September 10th episode of the show taking place from Madison Square Garden.
A lot of people wondered if this announcement was made due to low ticket sales of the event, however, a latest report suggests that this is not the case.
According to reports from Wrestling Observer, The Dead Man’s appearance at the episode had been planned for a while and the announcement was not made with the intention to boost sales.
There is no word yet on what Taker could be doing at the show. Though despite it being the Clash Of Champions go home episode, it was noted that the former Champion is not scheduled to be a part of the PPV.
It’s speculated that Taker could be involved in an angle setting up another future appearance at the SmackDown 20th anniversary show but we’ll have to wait and see if it turns out to be the case.
