Backstage Update On TNA’s Plans In Case They Can’t Get A New U.S TV Deal

TNA has already taped episodes of Impact that would air through September 30th. If there is television on October 7th in the U.S. or not, they will continue to produce weekly television for their international markets.

With TNA not having any episodes on Destination America after the 7th, TNA would mash up some matches from the most recent TV taping that was supposed to be used for one of their three-hour monthly specials and make an episode of Impact Wrestling for international markets. It’s always possible that TNA could get an order by Destination America to produce more episodes of Impact Wrestling and TNA hold a TV taping.

As of late, there was talk within TNA of doing a deal with Discovery that ROH is currently doing where ROH is not paid to air their show on the network, but rather they get national TV exposer for free.

TNA is attempting to make as many international deals as they can. TNA is expected to tape TV in India in late November and early December. The idea is to use Mahabali Shera as the big babyface to get fans in India interested in TNA’s product.

If TNA can’t tape television in India, then it would put the future of the Sony Six deal at risk. The taping was still the plan last week, but Dave Meltzer was told that it was not a done deal just yet.

If TNA can tape episodes of Impact in India then they would have enough footage to last them until their late January U.K tour. Then they would use that footage through mid-March.
