Vince McMahon is the owner of WWE and he does what he wants to. He could fire any employee at any given time if he so wishes. He recently let go of over one hundred employees in the company.
McMahon was in a foul mood following the permanent shut down of XFL. The wrongful termination lawsuit did not do him any favors either.
During PW Insider Elite Audio, Mike Johnson talked about Vince McMahon’s bad mood becoming a running joke backstage in WWE. Johnson also mentioned that two weeks ago, Vince McMahon was in an extremely bad mood due to the XFL shutting down.
This prompted people working with him to tell Johnson that they were going to do everything possible to stay out of the way of McMahon. He also said that it was a “running joke” in the company that everyone wants to get promoted in the company, but nobody wants the promotion that makes them work directly with Vince McMahon.
Johnson said that there have been people who directly worked with McMahon who were suddenly terminated, moved away, or demoted. It did not matter whether they were family members or not.
