Barron Trump, the youngest child of former President Donald Trump and Melania Trump, is nearing a significant milestone in his life: choosing a college. As speculation rises about which path Barron will take, recent reports suggest he may be considering New York University for his collegiate journey, a departure from his family’s tradition of attending Ivy League schools.

According to the Daily Beast, NYU tops Barron’s list of prospective schools, indicating that he may return to his hometown and be close to Trump Tower. This choice could surprise many, given that Barron’s half-siblings attended schools closely tied to their father. Donald Trump has often shown a preference for Ivy League institutions like the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, where he himself studied, and which his children Donald Jr. and Ivanka also attended. Tiffany Trump pursued her bachelor’s degree at the same university, and Eric Trump went to Georgetown University for his undergraduate studies, where Tiffany also earned her Doctor of Law degree.

During a September 2023 interview with Megyn Kelly, Donald Trump hinted that the Wharton School might be a possibility for Barron, describing his son as a “very good student” with a bright future. However, Barron’s consideration of NYU could reflect his desire to forge a unique path, separate from the one charted by his older siblings.

Though it’s unclear what field of study Barron is interested in, his choice of college might reflect a broader range of interests and a desire for a different collegiate experience. Given NYU’s location in New York City and its vibrant academic environment, it could offer Barron the flexibility to explore various subjects and career opportunities.
