There has been a question floating whether former First Lady Melania Trump will follow her son Barron Trump to college. It’s a fantasy a lot of “empty nester” parents consider via The Palm Beach Post.
However, with the extreme attention on the former president’s youngest son coupled with the former first lady’s fierce protectiveness of Barron Trump, it’s not an unreasonable question.
Barron Trump recently turned 18 and as a minor throughout his father’s public life in television, business and politics, he has largely been kept out of the spotlight and media headlines.
On May 17, 2024, when he graduated from Oxbridge Academy, he was one of 116 seniors to receive their diploma. While a loudspeaker announced the names of the graduates, Barron Trump’s name was not announced, likely a decision to avoid any extra attention.
Barron Trump is now attending fall 2024 classes at an unnamed university in New York and his father confirmed in an Aug. 20 New York Post story: “He’s all set in a certain school that’s very good,” the former president told the New York Post in an exclusive interview. “He’s always been a very good student, he’s smart.”
While neither of his parents have announced which New York university Barron Trump might be getting his college degree, Donald Trump said his team would release the news “soon,” according to the Post.
Besides the obvious question — where will Barron Trump attend college — another query is this: Will Melania Trump follow Barron Trump to college?
After all, the former first lady spent the first five months of the Trump administration in 2017 living apart from the president — she and Barron Trump remained behind in New York so he could finish school.
