Batista ‘Can’t Return’ To WWE For Sad Reason

Batista was removed from the WWE Hall of Fame event and appearing at WrestleMania 37 as part of the festivities over the weekend before WWE Fastlane, troubling news behind the scenes for one of WWE’s biggest events. Batista’s Evolution buddy Randy Orton was ‘angered’ backstage by Alexa Bliss at Raw.

Dave Meltzer said on Wrestling Observer Newsletter, “So Dave Bautista is not going into the Hall of Fame after all. The reason floating around was that there was a date conflict with him. So it’s weird.”

Batista’s Evolution buddy Ric Flair is ‘praying’ for Charlotte after bad news. Batista is very active in Hollywood these days, so he’s likely working on a film like John Cena with strict COVID protocals. Perhaps he’s finally getting ready to shoot Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 two years after his appearance in Avengers: Endgame. FightfulSelect.com reports that Batista will be inducted ‘when a full crowd can enjoy it.’

Meltzer also discussed if the Peacock deal will change when WWE shows are available for streaming. He said, “At the end of the day it’s up to NBC what they want to do. I asked WWE when this thing was going down and they said ‘no change.’ It’s gonna be NXT up on Thursday and RAW and SmackDown up on 30 day delay. So, that is the deal with this contract. That is in the contract that WWE signed with NBC. So, it would take NBC saying ‘we are going to change the contract.’”

WWE Fastlane was the first WWE show to stream live on Peacock last night. The WWE Network will end next month, with Peacock being the only place to stream WrestleMania 37.
