Batista won’t be returning to the ring at WrestleMania 37 or AEW Revolution, so any Batista vs. Drew McIntyre dream match speculation will have to end. This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite featured the on-screen debut of former WWE Superstar ‘Big Show’ Paul Wight. It was an interview segment with Tony Schiavone, Paul Wight decided to take a shot at WWE first and foremost, by mentioning whether he turned face or heel.
Then Paul Wight revealed a scoop he had that even Schiavone didn’t have while hyping his AEW commentary debut on the new AEW Dark show called AEW Dark: Elevation. Paul Wight revealed that AEW’s next ‘Hall of Fame worthy’ signing will make their debut at the Revolution PPV this Sunday.
Following this huge announcement, the pro wrestling fans instantly started speculating as to who the aforementioned pro wrestler might be. One fan speculated that it might be WWE Hall Of Famer Batista, giving some reasons as to why that might be the case.
Batista then replied to the fan, stating that the word “retired” has zero credibility by professional wrestling standards. BY saying this he quashed all rumors that he will be debuting at AEW Revolution.
They’re going to have to come up with another word that’s used specifically for professional wrestlers who actually mean it when they say they’re retired. Currently, the word “retired” has zero credibility by professional wrestling standards.
